What should I expect from Graphic Design Class?
mase00022 asked:
I am highly considering taking a graphics design class this upcoming semester at my college. I like to mess around and make images with photoshop and it would be great to learn more about it. So I am thinking about taking “Introduction to Graphics Design”. What should I expect? Will we be working on computers the whole time or will there be more drawing in this class? I read the course description, but it was quite vague. I am a mediocre artist, but like I said I would really enjoy making/editing pictures on the computer. Would I be better off with this or “Computer aided draft/design”??? Thanks!

Well at my high school we do have graphics class. I see people draw and also use the computers. A bit of both. You draw things usually I think on technology.
That depends on the school. If they do it properly, Graphic Design is part of the Fine Arts department, and they may (or they may not) use computers as tools. They may also use paint brushes, charcoal, pen, pencil, etc.
If they do it wrong they’ll teach you Photoshop.
If you want to make pictures on the computer you don’t need a college course - just play with GIMP.
